Welcome!

Big things are just a bunch of small things.

But you don’t want to lose sight of the big things because of the small things.

As adults, we often wonder when we will feel like we figured it out. We look to our parents, mentors, friends, and public figures to provide us with secret blueprints for various aspects of our lives. But the sooner we realize no one has such a roadmap, the faster we will begin to live more boldly and joyfully. I realized this as I futilely sought answers and blueprints throughout my 20s and 30s.

I am a neuroscientist by training, a biotech leader, an introvert, and most importantly, a problem solver. If you found me through one of my other channels, like LinkedIn, Instagram, CNBC or Forbes, you are already familiar with some of my professional development content. I break down big concepts and goals into pithy takeaways and a list of achievable actions (“here’s are three takeaways and actions to try!”). In this newsletter, I take the same approach to everything else.

True to my scientific background, I view life as a series of ongoing experiments. I research, develop hypotheses, and experiment with new ideas, mantras, and life hacks. After all, you can take the girl out of the lab, but you can't take the lab out of the girl!

My favorite part of the process is bringing structure to ambiguity and developing an approach, then synthesizing it into frameworks and action steps (if applicable because sometimes, in life, there is no follow-up required). This is an exciting challenge for the non-career aspects of life that are particularly fuzzy, such as friendships, self-love, travel, fashion, and even beauty! When surrounded by a deluge of decisions and options, a framework or two can give us the foundation to approach anything. I want to unoverwhelm overwhelming concepts.

In this newsletter, I will share my experiments, experiences, and extrapolations to help you navigate your life’s journey. I love frameworks and problem-structuring, so you will get a healthy dose of those around life’s dilemmas.
